Annual Kachchativu Feast today

The annual feast at St. Anthony’s Church in Kachchativu will be held today and tommorow on the Kachchativu Island. Kachchativu is a small islet belonging to Sri Lanka, located near the International Maritime Boundary Line of Sri Lanka and India. The main mass of the annual feast will be conducted by Bishop of Jaffna Diocese, Rt. Rev. Justin Gnanapragasam.

In the backdrop where the District Secretary of Jaffna has made necessary arrangements for the event, the Sri Lanka Navy works to establish infrastructure and facilities for the convenience of devotees.

On the directives of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and under the supervision of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Aruna Tennekoon, the Navy provides infrastructure facilities, installation of sanitary and drinking water facilities, temporary tents, roads, jetties as well as electricity in view of the annual feast.
