The Ruhuna regional service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation celebrates 43 years of exemplary service to the nation

The Ruhuna regional service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation celebrates 43 years of exemplary service to the nation today. The service was initiated by the then State Minister Ananda Tissa De Alwis on the 3rd of February 1980. The service became the second regional service which commenced under the national radio. The first announcer for the service was the then Director General Thevis Guruge. Preparations have been made to conduct several religious ceremonies in view of the commemoration.
