Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation amendment draft bill and orders under the civil aviation act passed in parliament today. Taking part in the debate in parliament today Minister Bandula Gunawardena said media organizations get recognition by publishing news that does not tarnish the image of the country. He said attention should be paid on the personal opinion expressed by some media institutions. Taking part in the debate MP Gayantha Karunathilake said Rupavahini Corporation Act should be prepared to match present challenges in the country. Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said rights of the workers will be protected when restructuring the SriLankan Airlines. He said charges at the Katunayake International Airport will not be revised. MP Ashok Abeysinghe said that measures should be taken to provide solutions to medicinal drugs shortage and malnutrition.
