A report of parliament select committee to prepare a new election system has been submitted to the parliament.

The report of the parliamentary select committee to  prepare  the new election system has been submitted to the parliament.  Presenting  it to the parliament by the leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena said that a proposal has been made to prepare an election system through single voting and mixed voting system comprised with 225 parliamentarians. 

Proposals have also  been submitted in order to provide opportunities for youth and women representations. 

Opportunities will also be made for the field officers to contest at the local government polls through this system..
