The Islamic Republic of Pakistan donates a street library to Sri Lanka

The first street library in Colombo was opened on May 20, 2022 as a gift from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan High Commissioner His Excellency retired Major Genaral Umar Frooq Burki and the Chairman of the Urban Development Authority, retired Major General Udaya Nanayakkara participated the opening ceremony. 2.3 million rupees has been spent for this library located in the parking lot near the Race Course mini pavilion, Colombo 7. On behalf of the Pakistan Government, the High Commissioner of Pakistan officially handed over the Library to the Chairman of the Urban Development Authority, Government of Sri Lanka.
